01What SafeSend does
SafeSend checks a draft message and its attached images for private information before the message is posted, and lets you cancel, post it unchanged, hide everything it found, or choose item by item what to hide.
It looks for six kinds of information: contact details, identity and document details, addresses and locations, medical information, financial information, and faces in images.
02SafeSend is an assistant, not a guarantee
SafeSend will miss things, and it will sometimes flag things that are not private. Detection is automated and imperfect. It is a second pair of eyes, not a safety net.
You remain responsible for what you post. Do not rely on SafeSend as the only check before sharing something sensitive, and do not treat the absence of a warning as confirmation that a message is safe to send.
SafeSend is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from information that SafeSend failed to detect, from information it hid that you wanted shown, or from any interruption of the service.
03Where your content goes
The images you attach are sent to Google Cloud Vision so that faces and visible text can be found in them. Your draft text is checked on our own server and is not sent to any third party. The Privacy Policy sets this out in full and forms part of these terms.
Even so, treat SafeSend as you would any online service: do not submit real credentials, payment card numbers you rely on, or another person's sensitive documents.
04Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use SafeSend to break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- submit content you have no right to share, including other people's identity documents, medical records or financial details
- use SafeSend to test how to evade privacy or safety detection
- attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure
We may stop serving any user or remove SafeSend from any server that breaks these terms.
05Availability
SafeSend runs on modest infrastructure. It may be unavailable, slow, or withdrawn at any time, without notice and without liability. Features may change.
06Usage data
SafeSend records anonymised information about how its warnings are used, described in section 4 of the Privacy Policy. No message content is recorded.
07Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top will be updated. Continuing to use SafeSend after a change means you accept the new terms.
